Announcing the 32nd Annual Burtonsville Day Celebration Saturday, September 23, 2023

THIS IS AN OUTDOOR EVENT — Rain or Shine

You are cordially invited to apply to participate in the Burtonsville Day Celebration Parade. The Burtonsville Day Celebration is being held in cooperation with the Montgomery County Department of Recreation at the Marilyn J. Praisner Community Recreation Center (formerly the Fairland Recreation Center), located at 14906 Old Columbia Pike, Burtonsville, Maryland  20866.  The festival is open to the public from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Traditionally, a large crowd attends and this is an excellent opportunity to reach residents from the Burtonsville, Cloverly, Colesville, Fairland, Briggs Chaney and White Oak communities.  The parade route is from Paint Branch High School on Briggs Chaney Road to the Marilyn Praisner Community Recreation Center.

Please note:

  • Parade units must arrive at Paint Branch High School by 9:00 am to allow adequate time for the staging of all units.
  • Parade will begin promptly at 10:00 am, rain or shine.

APPLICATION BY MAIL

  1. The completed application may be scanned and emailed to parade@burtonsvilleday.org or hardcopy mailed to: Burtonsville Day Celebration, PO Box 611, Burtonsville MD, 20866
  2. Applications will be dated as they are received. This is a first-come, first-served placement process.
  3. A review committee will determine if your application is accepted, notify you of acceptance, and provide further instructions by e-mail.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. The Burtonsville Day Celebration, Inc. and the Burtonsville Day Committee will not be held responsible for any liability incurred. Applicant and participants agree to hold harmless Burtonsville Day Celebration, Inc., and the Burtonsville Day Committee for any liability created by virtue of being a participant in the Burtonsville Day Parade.
  2. The Burtonsville Day Committee will not be providing vehicles for participants.
  3. All participants wishing to ride in the parade must provide their own vehicle(s).
  4. The maximum time to perform in front of the Judges Reviewing Stand will be one minute.
  5. Participants must keep up with the parade and not cause gaps to occur in the parade.
  6. Participants must be at the staging area by the prescribed time or they will be placed at the end of the parade at the discretion of the parade staff.
  7. Parade will begin promptly at 10:00 am, rain or shine.
  8. You must sign up by the required date or risk being placed at the end of the parade.
  9. Please let us know if you have a group of small children that must start at Banneker Middle School instead of Paint Branch High School.
  10. We will attempt to accommodate location requests. However, location assignments are final.
